Buying Auto Insurance Car Insurance Premium
Reader’s Question:
I’ve been buying auto insurance car insurance for years already. Honestly, I’m already tired of paying premiums which we have not taken advantage of. Though, I’m not looking forward to using it. Can you give me some saving tips?

I assume you’re one of those buyers who simply take what insurance agents or brokers present. Following are some practices which you might have overlooked when buying your auto insurance car insurance:
1. Watch out the names you add to your policy. You do not need to put your 16-year old son or daughter to your insurance policy, especially when they do not have a driver’s license No need to add family members who are not driving any car.
2. Your car make and model affect your auto insurance car insurance premium. The newer model, more expensive means bigger insurance premium. The bigger the engine means bigger premium. If your car model is included in the ‘most stolen’ list, then you’d surely get a bigger premium for it.
3. Think twice before getting a claim. If you made some minor dents to your car, it’s better you pay it from your pocket instead of charging it to the insurance company. These little incidents can taint your insurance record that will increase your premium when you reapply.
4. Be a save-the-earth advocate. You can get a discount for owning a hybrid car. You can opt for paperless transactions with your insurance providers. The less paper use, the more discounts you can get from them.
5. Does the state’s minimum requirement can provide enough coverage? Some states require too low that is too good to be true. Their minimum requirement sometimes does not reflect the reality of accident costs that you’d end up having to spend more money to cover up the excess.
6. Look deeper into bundled insurances. Some insurance companies advertise that you save more when you get a bundle of home, auto and other types of insurance from them. There are some insurers who specialized on a specific type of insurance which can provide very low rate.
7. There is no need to get both collision and comprehensive coverage. If you have more than 6 years old car, you can rethink of dropping your collision and comprehensive coverage because repairing an old car might cause your more than buying a new car.
8. Apply your love for shopping to buying auto insurance car insurance. It pays to spend some time looking and comparing various insurance products from different insurance providers.
